Savannah Class of 2023

Things are getting real for the class of 2023. For many of my clients graduation is this weekend! I wish all of them the best on their graduation day! May they feel proud, accomplished and ready for adventure!

Now this session was definitely an adventure! I was unable to find a lighting assistant so I reached out to my dear friend who lives near Sheboygan to help me with this shoot! Thankfully she agreed. The stunning Kohler Andrae State Park was crazy windy that day. Rain was continuing to threaten on the radar. That would not stop Savannah from having her shoot done that day!

We started the shoot on the beautiful boardwalks in the tree covered area. This provided not only a beautiful backdrop but also protection from the wind. The outfit Savannah chose had a romantic top with puffy sheer sleeves paired with dark jeans and booties. The perfect accessory was the wide brimmed hat.

Now it was beach time. While walking to the beach my assistant/friend Kerstin informed us that we needed to stick to the trails. Kohler Andrae has rules to help protect its beautiful dunes. As we reach the top of the dunes we were hit by the wind. There was so much wind that Savannah’s mom had to help hold the soft box with Kersten. The wind was majestic that day it helped to provide beautiful waves in the background of the photos. The wind also created magic in Savannah’s hair and interest in her dress. There was so much wind I had a piece of sheer fabric with to add to her outfit. This made for some of my favorite photos from this session.

Savannah had been hoping for a field of flowers. Unfortunately those are hard to come by. Here is yet another example of my friend Kerstin coming to the shoot was a huge benefit. She drove us past another park location and it was filed with just the right amount of wild flowers.

The last stop was downtown Sheboygan. Savannah chose and edgier outfit of a tank dress with a black satin racing jacket. We utilized the alley with string lights. Here I had her do a few walks and swings of the jacket. We also found a structure hiding a dumpster with the best black doors! This outfit was a perfect way to wrap up such a great session.
